You are invited to the 5th Annual Adrian Oliver Memorial Run

2017-11-10 12:12 PST

Members of the RCMP, our families, friends and other first responders are proud to participate in, and support the Cst. Adrian Oliver Memorial Run. We invite you to join us on Sunday November 12th at 11:00 Deer Lake Park to participate.

In November of 2012, Surrey RCMP Constable Adrian Oliver was involved in a motor vehicle collision that tragically took his life. In the difficult days that followed his death, Honour House opened its doors to the Oliver family as they travelled to the Vancouver area from across Canada to be with family and friends.

In November 2013, in partnership with Honour House Society and Burnaby RCMP, Adrian’s family and friends organized the first Adrian Oliver Memorial Run in recognition of his dedicated service and to commemorate and honour all first responders who perished in the line of duty.

It has been extremely important to find a way to turn Adrian’s tragic death into a legacy that supports others, says A/Commr. Joe Oliver, Adrian’s Dad. To date Adrian’s memorial run has raised over $110,000 for Honour House and the growing support every year is inspiring.

2016 run start

Honour House, located in New Westminster, is a home away from home and a place for recovery for Emergency Services personnel, Canadian Forces members, Veterans and their families. A place where heroes can stay with their families, free of charge while visiting the Vancouver area to receive medical care and treatment. Since its opening in late 2010, Honour House has provided over 6,000 nights of free accommodations. More recently, Honour House secured a ranch near Kamloops, BC which will offer a refuge for military personnel, veterans and first responders struggling with operational stress injuries.
