Police seek witnesses to collision involving pedestrian

Penticton, BC: On December 19, 2017 at approximately 10:15 a.m., Penticton RCMP received a report of a collision involving a black SUV and a pedestrian on the Channel Parkway near the old railway bridge in Penticton. This incident occurred in the northbound lanes during a heavy snowfall.

It is believed that the pedestrian walked west on Duncan Ave. W and then turned left onto the Channel Parkway before being struck by the SUV as he was walking south on the curb side of the road.

The 37-year-old male pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene.

Penticton RCMP are continuing their investigation and asking any witnesses who have yet to speak to police to come forward. Police are also interested to speak to anyone who may have observed the pedestrian walking prior to the collision to contact them. Witnesses are asked to contact Cst.
